May be underrated, but when you consider the phenomenal stature of the last two Irvine shows, underrating is kind of inevitable. It's a pity that particularly good recordings of this show don't really exist, but this one is 'round about the best. Though it slumps a bit around the middle of the first set, the show is otherwise as brilliant as many others in the spring tour.
Return of the beam!!! Mickey hadn't pulled that out in a while. Unfortunately the performance of the "Napalm for Breakfast" sequence in drums really reveals the limits of this recording. There's a horrible mid-range howl of distortion at a certain point of frequency. This tape might end up being a 4 after all.

Longnstrange's reviews are one of the reasons that the ratings here are worthless. Everything he has ever reviewed is a 4 or 5. He says that the reviews are for recording quality. Even so there is no way the echoing sound during Morning Dew is a five out of five recording.
Good show, but a number of weak songs like Push Comes to Shove & Black Muddy River to be a four or five. Even Jerry stopped playing these tunes after a few tours.

The Frost was the best place for me to be. I was born too late to be at the Rasberry Farm and all that.Yep, Frost and Greeks was what MY generation got. Just to have any recordings of these shows is a blessing, and here on the archives we get good sounding files for free...
